School Policy and Notice to Students
School Approval:
Notice is given that Blanchard & Calhoun Institute of Real Estate is approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission to offer in-class Pre and Post License Real Estate Courses, as well as independent study and online courses for sales and brokers.
Prohibition Against Recruiting:
No recruiting for any real estate brokerage firm is allowed in this class or on the school premises. Any recruiting by anyone should be promptly reported to Thomas M. Blanchard, III, Director, Blanchard & Calhoun Institute of Real Estate, 601 Scott Nixon Memorial Dr, Augusta, GA 30907 or PO Box 211708 Augusta, GA 30917, (706) 722-7331 or the Georgia Real Estate Commission (404) 656-3916. This approval is valid through December 31, 2018.
Entrance Standards:
Students who meet educational and/or licensing standards and have proper tuition funds will be enrolled by Blanchard & Calhoun Institute of Real Estate regardless of race, color, creed, sex, national origin, family status, or disability.
Instructors:
The instructor(s) of Blanchard & Calhoun Institute of Real Estate are approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission. Instructor: Steven Kendrick. Other approved instructors may be used at the school’s discretion.
Grading Policy:
Sales Pre-license, Post license and Broker in-class course students must achieve a passing score of at least 72% correct on the final examination to be certified as having successfully completed the course. A second examination failure will require the student to repeat all in-class instructions. Students must have also successfully completed all exercises required by the school. Students must complete and pass certain assessments pertaining to finance, contracts and market analysis.
Independent Study & On-Line Courses:
Students must achieve a passing score of at least 72% correct on the final examination to be certified as having successfully completed that course and have personally completed each assigned lesson module of instruction. A second examination failure will require the student to repeat all instruction in-class.
Course Attendance:
Students enrolled in standard 75 hour pre-licensing and 60-hour broker courses are permitted two absences provided all homework assignments are completed and have at least 75 hours in class for sales or 60 hours in-class for broker.
Post-license must have 25 hours in class. The student must be on time and present for the entire course. On- line students must complete all requirements within six (6) months of enrollment.
Certificates:
The School will electronically notify the Georgia Real Estate Commission of Pre-License and Post-License students who satisfactorily complete the course and receive a passing score. All continuing education students who satisfactorily complete a course(s) will be electronically notified to the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
Tuition & Tuition Refund:
Tuition is payable in full when students register for class and receive their materials. If a student withdraws after application but before class begins, 100% of the tuition will be refunded provided all materials are returned in useable condition. No refunds will be made after classes begin.
Make Up Policy:
Any Pre-license or Broker student may make up any excused absence by attending the module missed with another class. Under extenuating circumstances, the school director may elect to offer a special make up session for the student. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In any event, the make up must be completed within 90 days of the last day of class.
Upon completion of the course, the school DOES NOT guarantee employment.
Note: The school reserves the right to postpone any class with fewer than ten qualified students. Affected students will be notified of alternate class times.
